This fence had gone a few years without protection. Thats right, no Paint, no clear sealer or anything. Allowing the sun and water to continuously damage it. So without any protection whatsoever it started to rot in some places. Once the wood was repaired we then used Behr’s wood brighter. This helped to soft wash the mildew and grim away. Once the fence was clean, we then applied 2 full coats Of Behr’s solid stain. While back brushing the stain in. Between each coat. Ensuring a full and even coat of protection was applied. Since wood is porous , it soaks up a lot of the stain. Without brushing in the stain, you would not get full coverage. The end result would be spotting blotching, runs and dripping. Overall a poor looking job. So it’s very important to always back brush in the Stain if you decide to spray.
